WH Bence were proud to be invited to the launch of the 11th mobile chemotherapy unit in the Hope for Tomorrow fleet in Colchester this week.
The new unit, “Maureen”, built by WH Bence, honours the memory of Hope for Tomorrow fundraiser Maureen Dore who lost her fight with cancer in 2010. Maureen worked tirelessly for the Charity, and Hope for Tomorrow have named their latest unit after her to honour her memory.
The new unit was unveiled at Colchester General Hospital by Lord MacLaurin, chairman of Hope for Tomorrow, and formally opened by Maureen’s sister. Also present to view the unit for the first time were local people who will benefit from receiving treatment on the unit, who have said what a huge difference it has made to their quality of life as they do not need to travel for hours to go to a hospital to receive their treatment.
ITV Anglia News were also present at the occasion and their news report can be viewed here.
