Volvo Water Tender Demonstrator
After successfully being awarded a place on the FireBuy Framework for the next four years for the supply of Water Tenders to show the industry our commitment and quality, we have produced a Water tender demonstrator based on the Volvo FLL15 chassis. As part of the FireBuy Framework agreement we are also able to offer this specification with options on a wide range of other chassis widely used within the UK Fire Service.
Having liaised with the customer and supplier base our sales and engineering teams produced a standard specification around the EN 1846 part1 & 2 standard to build the vehicle to. During the build process a number of customers and suppliers were invited to view and comment on the vehicle design and layout.
On its completion the vehicle was well received at its unveiling at the Emergency Services Show 2010 at Stoneleigh.
Over recent months our sales team have visited a large number of Brigades in the UK with the demonstrator to have a one to one discussion over the vehicle. Any comment made by an individual Brigade has been fed back to our engineering department for appraisal.
The demonstrator body is constructed from the tried and test Co-polymer material and manufactured by Strongs Plastic Products. The body includes an integral 1,800 litre water tank which in turn is connected to a 2,000 litres per minute fire pump by means of a 100mm feed pipe. The body is fitted out with two air operated hose reels mounted high up into the wheel arch lockers.
A variety of WH Bence Slide and Tilt as well as Pull out shelves are included into each locker, and all shelving is mounted on to vertical tracking to allow for height adjustment at a later date by the brigade.
A roof track system is employed for the mounting of all equipment and negate the need for drilling and allow for any horizontal adjustment that may be required.
The body electrics operate via a fully integrated CAN system which is able to communicate with other major components fitted to the vehicle, a pump operator screen is fitted into the pump bay area with graphics to allow easy understanding of the vehicle status. Also above the driver fitted into the screen header panel is a screen showing the status of the lockers, doors and other ancillary equipment.
The vehicle is still available for individual presentations or demonstrations, just call 01454 310909 to arrange your visit.
