This single trailer unit was manufactured for the Wye Valley Hospitals NHS Trust for the retinal screening of patients.
The unit enables a greater number of patients to be scanned “in the community” than relying on a hospital-based service.
The retinal screening trailer is also fitted with the Bence-design patient lift, which is multi-functional.
The system can accommodate both able-bodied patients (via the staircase) and wheelchair patients on the lift platform. The unique design of the lift means that the stairs do not need to be disconnected when the lift platform is in use. The lift can accommodate both a patient in a wheelchair and carer.
