BENCE SERVICE.

The Bence Service department was established in 1995 and began with a service manager and three mobile engineers. The team has since grown to ten mobile Engineers, each with their own fully equipped service van enabling them to carry out repairs and maintenance on sites around the country. Bence offer a 24/7/365 service solution to customers with a service contract.

The requirement for a standalone service department emanated from the Company developing more complicated specialised vehicles, including hydraulic slide-out sides, hydraulic levelling, lifting rooves, air conditioning, Satellite connectivity and on-board power generation. It also became apparent that the regular maintenance requirement on our vehicles was problematic for our customers as a normal garage mechanic would not have the ability to work on vehicles of this complexity.

For the first five years the Service workshop was based next to our main manufacturing facility, however following an increased demand for service and therefore the requirement for additional space, it was decided to invest in an additional 1.5 Acre site at Badminton Road Industrial Estate. This new site provided sufficient space and power hook up for up to twenty 13.6 meter trailers, as well as a new three bay trailer workshop built complete with a Rolling Road Brake Tester and a service pit with a 10,000Kg vehicle lift jacking system. A new set of vehicle column lifts have since been added. The workshop is used for repairs and servicing of Commercial vehicles and trailers Built and maintained by Bence. The site also benefits from an office block with seminar room for meetings and training plus office space showers and toilets.

As most of our customers are unable to move their own trailers Bence have responded by forming an in-house transport department offering collection/delivery between sites in addition to the servicing provision. This department currently employs four HGV drivers and has ownership of four tractor units, two Low Loaders and two flatbed trailers one of which extends. Currently we have on order two Sixty Tonne trailers with power steer that should be available later this year. All the drivers have extensive delivery experience both in the UK and Europe. We have organised deliveries to Spain and France for our relocatable mobiles which are classified as wide loads. The drivers regularly carry out site surveys to make sure that customer venues are compatible with the equipment being delivered.
