Bedfordshire Fire Hazmat Pod.

In 2012, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue, in conjunction with the Environment Agency worked with Bence to design and build a CHEM 8 hook loading pod which would be compatible with their national resilience fleet.  The pod was designed to carry specialist hazmat equipment for the Fire and Rescue Service and integrated environmental protection equipment from the Environment Agency.

The pod was designed with a loading capacity at the rear to roll cages and other heavy equipment into the pod rather than lifting.  The pod was also provided with 110V generator which was capable of running all the on-board equipment and supported the exterior lighting and emergency blue lights.

The vehicle was successfully handed over to the Brigade in May 2013 and has led to other hook-loading opportunities throughout the Fire and Rescue market for WH Bence.
