The past six months have been a real success for WH Bence, with the successful build of the Tyne & Wear Heavy Rescue Tender with Palfinger crane and operational support units. These units were designed and built at WH Bence and have been created to meet the requirements of Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service. The vehicles are fitted with the latest heavy rescue equipment, including Weber cutting equipment, and also a long reach Palfinger hydraulic crane. The operational support units have been designed to carry bulk items. With sliding side sheets and a vehicle-based Moffatt forklift system to be able to unload at any site the vehicle is delivered to. This vehicle has been designed from a co-polymer body which offers us the opportunity to alter the internal layout on request by the customer. We are able to weld additional shelves and partitions in where required, allowing us to fit new shelving layouts for future equipment.
